Show Your Pride of Brotherhood with Alpha Phi Alpha Merchandise

Alpha Phi Alpha started in 1906 with seven African American men, called the “seven jewels,” at Cornell University. These founding fathers were Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy. These founders saw a desperate need for people of color to support each other and help fight racial injustices. In 1905, there were six minority students enrolled at Cornell University, and the environment was such that none of them returned the following year. So in 1906,knowing they would face many hardships in their struggle to get a quality education during this harsh time of racial prejudices, the seven new minority students banded together to form a study group and support each other. This was the foundation that became Alpha Phi Alpha.

Martin Luther King Jr., Thurgood Marshall, and many other influential African American leaders were members of Alpha Phi Alpha and also stood at the forefront of equal rights movements. They wanted to change the way the world treated minority people and to make a better world for all people of color. Alpha Phi Alpha’s rich history, with their pledge to stop racial injustices, was, and still is, a fighting force that helped drive and inspire people to fight for equality. Members of this fraternity should take great pride in the sacrifices and struggles of members before them that brought Alpha Phi Alpha to its current prominence as a fraternity with a proud history and ongoing tradition of excellence.

Now you can show your fraternal brotherhood and pride in being a member of Alpha Phi Alpha. The largest project Alpha Phi Alpha is currently working on is the Washington D.C. Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial. The Alpha Phi Alpha is raising money for this memorial to honor one of the most well known members of their fraternity, Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Along with large scale goals like the memorial, Alpha Phi Alpha chapters are all also involved with volunteering and charities in their local communities. Members can be seen wearing their Alpha Phi Alpha sweatshirts, apparel, clothing, hoody sweatshirts, and hats when they are helping the community and neighborhoods.

For all fraternities, rush and pledge time is a very important part of the year. During rush, pledges can been seen wearing Alpha Phi Alpha shirts, pins, hats, and more. The senior members of the Fraternity can been seen wearing their jewelry, like rings, bracelets, and other merchandise that shows they are proud to be members of Alpha Phi Alpha. Alpha Phi Alpha is devoted to academic excellence, good character, fellowship, humanity and helping to correct social injustices faced by minorities. Members and pledges of this outstanding fraternity should be proud of its goals and values and show their pride accordingly. At the induction ceremony pledges officially become members of the fraternal brotherhood of Alpha Phi Alpha. At the ceremony you can see Alpha Phi Alpha party favors, and other merchandise while the new members are inducted. New members may be given a gift like an Alpha Phi Alpha flask, blanket, or glass. Being a member of Alpha Phi Alpha also means you can attend the formals where there may also be many different types of Alpha Phi Alpha merchandise and party favors.

Alpha Phi Alpha represents the values of freedom, equal rights, humanity, dignity, educational excellence, and equality.
