Founded in 1873 at the Lewis School for Girls, Delta Gamma is one of the oldest and largest women’s fraternities in both the United States and Canada. Delta Gamma was the first fraternity in the U.S. to establish an independent philanthropic foundation (Service for Sight), the first women’s fraternity to have its own in-house printing press, the only Pan-Hellenic group to register its flower with the American Rose Society, and is one of the original groups that began the National Panhellenic Conference.

Today, Delta Gamma has more than 140,000 collegiate members and stays committed to its cause of doing good throughout the world in the form of various service projects, namely, Service for Sight. Since 1936, Delta Gamma’s purpose has been to stop blindness before it starts by raising awareness, providing assistance, and organizing life-enhancing initiatives.
